How long will educational therapy and coaching take before seeing results?

Educational therapy and coaching are a process. This process is not a quick fix, but it is not a forever process either. Our goal is to help individuals reach a comfortable and automatic level where they are generalizing and applying acquired skills and strategies. Depending on the severity and number of identified issues, the support may range from 50 – 200 hours.

Unfortunately, educational therapy and coaching services are generally not covered by health insurance because there are no specific medical billing codes associated with these educational support services. Coverage policies can vary, so we recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to confirm your plan benefits and any available reimbursement options.

Some families may be able to use Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) funds for certain educationally related services when supported by appropriate documentation. To learn more about potential HSA and FSA options, please see Hub Noggin’s blog on How to Maximizing HSA and FSA

Disclaimer: Insurance coverage, eligibility, and reimbursement requirements vary by plan and provider. Please consult your insurance carrier, HSA/FSA administrator, or tax professional regarding your specific situation.

Educational therapy differs from traditional tutoring in both its focus and goals. While tutoring primarily supports students with curriculum content, homework, and classroom assignments, educational therapy focuses on identifying and addressing underlying learning challenges. Through targeted skill remediation, strategy instruction, and executive function support, educational therapy helps students develop the tools they need to become more independent, confident learners over time.
